Toyota Belgium was looking for an easy system to publish a paper catalogue of car accessories.
While all dealers were connected to the extranet of Toyota Belgium, the need for a physical document giving a comprehensive overview of all available accessories was identified.
A specific database was set up with interface to the central SAP system for some of the data.
This (SQL-Server) database is maintained with Catedit® as Content Management System. Specific User friendly screens have been drawn. They allow to :
- Introduce and maintain product records and associated pictures
- Find and filter records
- Output any part of the catalogue to PDF
When asked for output, CatEdit drives Leaflet® in the background.
After a few weeks the catalogue has become a hefty 300 page document with all accessories for Toyota cars sold in Belgium that is published twice a year.
The same database is now ready to be used on the extranet where Leaflet templates can be seamlessly integrated in the existing site.
With Catedit® Web Edition, a smart FTP link allows to replicate automatically or on immediate request the contents of the local database to the copy running at the ISP.
