Text runaround
 
With LL 6.5 it is possible to let text run around a picture with the use of the "Text Wrap" palette.
It works like in other DTP packages like Indesign or Quark.
When you put a picture over text and activate "text wrap" for the picture, text flows around the picture giving the following result :
It is now possible to activate "text wrap" with the following objects : picture, rectangle and text.
Picture place
Leaflet knew already 3 different ways to put pictures into a picture box : Center, Fit and Crop.
"Place" mode is a new one. "Place" works like in Indesign (File->Place or Ctrl-D) and Quark (File->Get Picture or Ctrl-E).
The size of the picture is based on the resolution saved in the picture file itself (for pixel based pictures). For vector based pictures the resolution is 72dpi by convention..
When picture size is bigger than the picture box, it will be cropped depending on its position in the box (9 positions available).
Like usual existing files will be opened without problem by Leaflet 6.5, we have taken great care to assure total compatibility. New functions are available for all versions : Leaflet, Leaflet Server, Leaflet PowerServer and Leaflet Unicode.

Criteria (selection, visibility etc...) can now be edited. It is not necessary to redefine them each time they change. F2 when on criteria line opens the criteria dialog and accepts changes.

You can resize the DBC info window to increase the viewable area without having to scroll. Each part of the window can separatly be resized. Leaflet remembers the settings for the next session.

Pages with lots of calculated fields or complex calculated fields display faster. Most calculated fields are computed only once. Previously they were interpreted several times within the same box. |

Several new functions make page setting easier for multilingual documents with change in black:
Through calculated fields is Leaflet capable to determine precisely the size of a textbox (with respect of contents, stylesheet and text wrap). It is then possible to take decisions based on the size of the box.
This technique allows for example to select exactly the longest language for each text box. It is possible to setup multi-lingual catalogues with change in black with only 2 languages in the template : the active language and the longest language.
With calculated fields, it is also possible to select dynamically in real time a hyphenation dictionary. Previously an HTML parser had to be defined for each language.
